My name is Rosa María Iglesias. I´m Qualified Spanish Teacher from Spain. Specialist Spanish GCSE and A level -Qualified Examiner for exam boards.

 ******Spanish Native speaker from Spain living in North London.Qualified teacher with Master in teaching Spanish as second language with excellent strategies teaching complex grammar. Specialist on GCSE exams providing techniques and tips to get higher marks in your exams; Secondary, GCSE, A-level, Further, IB, Pre-U Expert on A level and Qualified examiner for exam boards. 

Being a student of English, Italian, Mandarin and French myself, this allows me to put myself in my students shoes by understanding how the student feels and things that are useful to stick to learning a language. I moved to the vibrant and cosmopolitan City of London in 2015 and I have taught MFL (French up to KS3 and Spanish up to A level) in mainstream education and since then I have become an expert in teaching Spanish GCSE and A-Level, preparing students to do AQA exam board.

 Being a native speaker allows my students to take me as a reference and have a role model so they can copy from me and pronounce accurately, using Spanish expressions. I’m a perfectionist, always patient and I give lots of support to my students but also correct them in order to allow them to improve, supporting their process of learning. I’m incredibly passionate about languages and different cultures. 

I love Spanish culture as I grew up there and I have been living in Spain for more than 30 years, however, I’m a person who loves exploring and meeting people from all over the world and I've been lucky enough to live and travel in different countries. I have already lived in Italy, Canada and China where I really needed to learn their language from scratch and I challenged myself and I can now even speak Mandarin. 

I‘m a supportive, encouraging but rigorous tutor. I love travelling, studying languages (French, Italian and Chinese) swimming, running, doing yoga and cycling. I also enjoy spending time with friends and going to theatre and musicals and I love cooking, eating healthily and even better if I can eat in the park in the sunshine with friends.

I've been taking Rosa's Beginners Spanish class for 3 weeks. Rosa is a very good teacher and she makes it lots of fun to learn. There is only six in the class and it is 3 times a week, so a great way to comprehensively learn (compared to other weekly language classes I've done before where you forget a lot.) We have a lot of laughs and it's not too intensive. It is a perfect activity to use your time effectively during 'lockdown' or anytime!

I signed up for a quick "trial" beginner's lesson, and right away I was hooked. Now I look forward to each lesson. The format (all online, thanks to social distancing restrictions) has been intimate, with classes never having more than seven other students in them. The lessons pertain directly to our everyday lives -- what projects we're working on, what we are looking forward to doing on the weekend, how our families are, what we plan to cook for dinner. In each class session we all have plenty of space to ask questions and get clarifications. And Rosa is easy and flexible, as well as eminently patient with any of us struggling to understand something. She clearly enjoys teaching, which makes learning with her a joy.
